Add to the University Calendar of Events

- If you do not have access to update your website, find out who is your office's web ambassador and ask them to add the event.

For coverage in partnership with KRVS:

Notify KRVS of your event to take advantage of the following opportunities:
- 15-second University promo for events open to the public
- 15-second promo about your upcoming event to be aired during the morning and afternoon drive-time news.
- Fill out this form to submit your event for this free promotion.
- You may submit these as early as one month before your event, but no later than three weeks prior
- KRVS will start airing the promos two weeks before your event.

Apres-Midi Interview
- 10-15 minute pre-recorded interview with Megan Constantin or Cheryl Devall.
- You may schedule an interview.
- These are pre-recorded. Please note that if you record the interview on a Thursday, the earliest KRVS may run it is the following Monday. KRVS suggests scheduling at least a week before your event.
- These interviews run beginning at 3 p.m. Mondays through Thursdays.
- Recordings of the interviews are posted on the KRVS website, app, and Spotify.

Music Show Interview
- If your event is music-related, KRVS may be able to provide an opportunity for you to promote it on any of its locally produced music shows.
- Let KRVS know which shows you'd like to be featured on and they will connect you with their producers.

Judith Meriwether/Apres-Midi Community Calendar
- Send your PSA to psa@krvs.org to have your event mentioned on the community calendar that airs just before 4 p.m. Monday thru Thursday.
- You must submit this no later than two weeks before the event to have it included.

Social Media
- Tag KRVS on any of your social promotions and they will share it. Find them on Facebook and Instagram at KRVS Public Media.

Notify KRVS of your event to take advantage of the following opportunities:
- Submit a graphic to be uploaded to the campus digital signs. Learn more about the digital signs.
- For content displayed on digital billboards located around campus at Blackham Coliseum, Rex Street & St. Mary Boulevard, and the Student Union, contact Auxiliary Services.
- Reserve banner space and table space on campus. See the Student Union.
- Post on your website and/or ask others to post on related websites.
- Create a Facebook event page and "invite" friends, and share with friends and followers

Cross-promote your program
- Coordinate with a major theme, observance or awareness days/week/month http://www.brownielocks.com/month2.html.
- Add an associated lecture/panel to a film screening.
Three weeks prior
Plan and implement mass media promotions and advertising.
- Submit your event announcement for possible press release and/or social media placement http://louisiana.edu/send-your-news
- Submit an image for display on campus digital signs
- Promote to targeted student groups, e.g., residence hall students, Honors Program, Greeks, specific academic departments, etc.
- Boost attendance through social media (e.g., Instagram, Facebook, Twitter).
- The Vermilion publishes most Wednesdays of the academic year: Advertise and send announcements to http://www.thevermilion.net
- Promote department, program, or nonprofit events on KRVS 88.7 FM by scheduling a 15-minute recorded interview in the KRVS studio for the station’s Monday-Thursday Après-Midi program. Be sure to schedule your interview 3 weeks in advance of the event. Interview appointments and the broadcast schedule fill up quickly.
Two weeks prior
Implement campus visibility and networking.
- Post and distribute flyers on campus bulletin boards only.
- Post flyers at places students frequent, e.g., local coffee shops, restaurants.
- Email your event flyer to snaps@louisiana.edu to be included in the Monday Messages announcements on the University's Instagram (@ULLafayette) and Snapchat account.
- Invite student & community groups to attend and to help publicize through their websites, meetings, etc.
- Ask faculty to mention it in class. Occasionally they will offer extra credit for relevant topics.
- You also may send announcements and press releases to the main broadcast event calendar at psa@krvs.org and submit events to the student station here. Learn more about KRVS and stream content online. Email questions to Cheryl Devall at cdevall@krvs.org.
Final week
- Deliver banners to be hung on your reserved space.
- Promote an event with a table on campus.
- Campus postings & sidewalk chalk.
